Loyalty..... to Words.

Blog: Hawk-umentary

Doctors take an Oath to take care of the sick no matter their Insurance coverage, yet still we have the sick and uninsured getting denied treament.

Politicians take an Oath to serve our Country and defend the Constitution but yet the Writ of Habaes Corpus almost gets waved.

We have president's redefining the word IS..... and House members screaming over sitting presidents when they speak on National television

It's official, we are no longer loyal to words.

Lately, I have been missing the greats of Journalism. With the passing of Cornkite, I was reminded how different it is today than in their day..... Back in the day we had Journalist who would thorough vet a story, and Way it heavily before subjecting it to the media....

That media broke open stories like Vietnam, Watergate, McCarthism.... it thoroughly brought Powerful Men Down to Human Levels, and now it seems ...well as Jon Stewart would put it.....

STEWART: ... is that the news organizations look to Comedy Central for their cues on integrity.

I understand we have lowered the bar, mostly because of the advent of 24 hour news.... We can't have Murrow Or Conrkite reporting for 24 hours straight 7 days a week..... opccasionally a Geraldo steps in, or a Chris Matthews.....

Lately, I have Criticized "journalists" for their lack of Integrity..... Lack of research, or just plain disingenious ( spelling ? ) writing.... Stuff that in the '50s, would not have qualified for print with your groceries store advertisements.

a quote from Walter Cornkite.....

I can't imagine a person becoming a success who doesn't give this game of life everything he's got.

Shouldn't that be true of reporting, also ? When you don't have the facts, when you just have Slighted Bluster Shouldn't you be prudent enough as a journalist to let that go, or has the demand for Clicks overided common decency ??? Does Kanye West v. Taylor Swift passed Murrow's standard for Legitimate news ???

Thank goodness we have 24 hours to debate this issue......

one last quote.

In seeking truth you have to get both sides of a story. - Cronkite, again.
